Snaplang Privacy Policy

Privacy for photo-powered language learning.

Last updated: July 2, 2026. This page summarizes current handling of user and app data based on Snaplang's product scope.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how Snaplang handles information connected to account access, guest sessions, photo-based language learning, speaking practice, saved libraries, groups, subscriptions, ads, analytics, and support requests.

Information you provide or generate

Depending on how you use Snaplang, this may include guest identifiers, sign-in profile details, email address, display name, avatar, selected target and native languages, learning goals, tone preferences, saved folders, generated bilingual sentences, key phrases, speaking practice results, group activity, subscription status, and support messages.

Photos and image context

Snaplang may collect and process photos you capture with the camera or choose from your photo library to create lessons, including bilingual sentences, vocabulary, grammar notes, and related learning content. Snaplang may also process necessary photo metadata, including technical information, file details, capture information, and location metadata if your device or the selected photo provides it and you permit access.

Audio and speaking practice

When you use pronunciation practice, Snaplang may request microphone access and collect or process your voice recording to score pronunciation, provide speech feedback, and save related practice history. Microphone access is optional, but pronunciation scoring depends on it.

Camera, photo, microphone, and notification access

Snaplang may ask for camera, photo-library, microphone, notification, and optional photo metadata permissions. These permissions are used only for the related app features and can be managed through your device settings. Snaplang asks for your permission before accessing photos, camera, microphone, or protected device data.

How information is used

Information is used to create and maintain sessions, personalize language settings, generate learning content from your photos, provide audio playback and pronunciation evaluation, save library items, operate group rounds, track streaks and statistics, manage usage limits and premium access, improve the learning experience, operate and secure the service, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and respond to support requests.

AI processing and third-party providers

To provide AI-powered lessons and pronunciation features, Snaplang may send user-provided photos, necessary photo metadata, generated text, language settings, and voice recordings or speech data to third-party AI processing providers, including OpenAI for image and language processing and Microsoft Azure Speech for speech recognition, pronunciation assessment, and related audio processing. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the requested Snaplang features and must protect personal data with the same or equivalent level of protection required by Snaplang.

Backend processing and service providers

Snaplang uses backend services for authentication, profile retrieval, photo analysis, signed image access, audio generation, speaking assessment, library storage, group features, notifications, free usage, subscriptions, ads, analytics, and customer support. Service providers may process data only as needed to support these functions.

Advertising, analytics, and subscriptions

Snaplang may use analytics to understand product performance, rewarded ads to grant extra usage, and subscription services to unlock premium access. These systems may process device, usage, purchase, or ad interaction data as required for those features.

Sharing and disclosure

Snaplang does not sell personal learning content for marketing resale. Information may be shared with service providers, including AI processing providers such as OpenAI and Microsoft Azure Speech, legal authorities when required, or other users only where app features intentionally involve sharing, such as group rooms or shared cards. Snaplang requires service providers that process personal data to use safeguards that provide the same or equivalent protection.

Retention and deletion

Snaplang keeps information for as long as needed to operate the service, maintain account continuity, provide saved learning history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect system integrity. Signed-in users with an email address can delete their account in the app by confirming a deletion OTP. After successful confirmation, user-created data is deleted immediately, auth records are removed or anonymized, and old tokens become invalid.

Your choices

You can use supported guest access, sign in to preserve progress, decline optional permissions, delete individual learning results where available, leave or delete eligible group content, manage subscription settings through the app store provider, contact support, or delete your signed-in account through the OTP flow.
